Friday 23rd September 2011Job Opportunity: Front End Developer Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, St. Albans or Remote
What we are looking for
We are seeking a talented front-end developer with excellent CSS, HTML, Ajax skills. You should be comfortable building sites from scratch producing fantastic clean, semantic markup without the need for frameworks.
You should also have experience building rock solid, standards compliant, cross-browser compatible websites along with a good to excellent understanding of JavaScript and when to use it; you will be comfortable writing your own functions rather than rely on plugins (or writing your own plugins). A keen eye for design and an understanding of user experience design would be an advantage. You likely have an interest in emerging trends: canvas, media queries, flexible grids, and draft CSS3 enhancements.
We want you to work on our next generation web applications. You will have a passion for creating simple, clean and intuitive interfaces, but also a working knowledge of some of the technologies to deliver leading edge, interactive sites and applications. The successful candidate will become a key member of a small, passionate team with a rapidly expanding company focused on deploying innovative products.
We are also looking for someone who will be a knowledge resource for the latest trends and technologies for web interface design and development. You will work to actively assist in improving the usability, usefulness and desirability of our applications.
This position is contract-based, with possibility to become full-time. We have two bases - St. Albans, near London and Newcastle upon Tyne. We would prefer someone local, but we are happy working with someone who is remote if they are exceptional.
Please note: If you do not have an existing portfolio of work that you have done, please do not apply.

Friday 02nd September 2011'Product Matching' Launches for Competitor Monitoring ToolBack in June we told you about our exciting new tool called Competitor Monitor. Providing ecommerce businesses with a means of monitoring their competitor’s prices, this side project of ours has seen unprecedented growth in its first year of operation.
In order to continually add value to our current and future customers, Inovica have been investing heavily in the development of the software and are only days away from launching a brand new feature called ‘
product matching’.
‘Product matching’ takes the standard competitor price monitoring service a step further. Not only does it monitor your competitor’s websites for price and product changes, the system now ‘matches’ up identical products across all websites, including your own. This means there is no need to drill it into other sites or reference your own prices in order to get an idea of pricing for a particular product across the board.
The process to match the products is something the developers have been working hard towards making as easy as possible, the result being a ‘
multi-site matching’ method, which seriously trims down the amount of time the product matching takes.
So far, an interesting range of business sectors have started using the service, from car dealerships and baby clothes to dj equipment and multimedia products. The same applies to all of them, they have too many products and competitors to keep track of manually, and even if they could, they would struggle to make sense of all the information. Competitor Monitor does all that for you.
This addition makes Competitor Monitor an even more valuable tool to ecommerce businesses by providing a substantial competitive edge, allowing for an almost instant increase in sales. Visit
CompetitorMonitor.com to get instant access to a free 14 day trial account to see how it all works.

Monday 11th April 2011New Site Launched for Making A WillStatistics show that two thirds of all people in the UK die without making a will. If you die without leaving a will it can cause complications for your next of kin. Your estate will be distributed in accordance with the Laws of Intestacty, which means that everything can end up in the possession of the Government, rather than your loved ones.
One of Inovica's clients is working to improve that situation my making it easier to create a will, amend and access it when you need to.
Making A Will allows individuals, using the online system, to create a single will, or married couples to create a mirror will, that will allow them to set the terms by which their estate is dealt with when the time comes.
The user goes through a series of stages, in a very easy to use form format on the website, answering questions to fill out the final will document. The forms are able to expand and contract as necessary and so are extremely flexible for the information that users may need to entire, to document their wishes in their entirety.
Once all of the users information is filled out, the will is checked by a professional who is registered with The Society of Will Writers, and then there is option to download the will as PDF, or have it sent out in the post.
When working on the project Inovica tried to create a website that was clearly laid out and informative, for people looking for information on creating a will. It needed to be friendly and approachable, as somewhere that people would be happy to enter their personal details and it needed to be highly functional to piece together the will documents that people will rely on in the future.
Making A Will is currently going from strength to strength in their goal to make it easier and faster for people to create that all important will document.

Tuesday 30th November 2010How Enterprising Are You?
The
Enterprise Catalyst is a free online self-assessment and coaching tool that lets individuals find out more about their attitudes and behaviours when it comes to being enterprising. This tool was the brain child of husband and wife team, Dr David and Janette Johnson, and was
built by Inovica.
Dr David and Janette have built up a successful business, working with organisations and individuals in an effort to promote a greater sense of enterprise and to construct the tools and services necessary to facilitate the development of enterprising mindsets.
The Enterprise Catalyst is just one of the tools that Inovica have helped to develop, offering a platform that not only provides an online enterprise personality test, but also captures massive amounts of data on the aspirations, attitudes and enterprising activities of thousands of individual users. This data is used to measure the impact of enterprise investments and development projects.
The Enterprise Catalyst can be used by Local and National Government, providers of enterprise support, schools, colleges, and enterprise initiatives in order to assess the impact that their work is having and to identify where they may need to make improvements to their schemes.
As well as being a great tool to provide useful data to organisations who support and encourage enterprise, it is also an interesting tool for school children, college students, trainees and employees. Every time a personality test is conducted on the
Enterprise Catalyst, the end user will receive a report outlining results such as what motivates and drives them, their willingness to learn and develop, their personal enterprise style and any behaviours that may stand in the way of them being successful in enterprise. The report also contains information on suited team roles and thinking styles.
Over all, the Enterprise Catalyst, which is part of the
Innovas Venture to Think network, has been a great success, gathering interest and momentum at an exceptional rate. Why not try it yourself and see how your
attitude to enterprise measures up.
