What was needed |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Nixon Hire, the largest plant and
industrial equipment supplier in the North East, wanted
a redesign of their existing website to provide a better
communication system for their clients and to move their
entire hire and sales catalogue online. One of the stipulations
was that the entire site should be managed in-house and
that they wanted control over not only the content, but
also structural changes without needing any technical
in-depth web development knowledge. |

What we did |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Functional requirement: With such
a complex site it was necessary to create a functional
specification that covered the business needs of the site
this then led to the creation of a development
plan covering interface design, navigational design and
programming
Design concepts: We presented various design concepts
to the client based on the development plan and we integrated
some of our standard modules as well as the creation of
bespoke elements such as the shopping cart system. The
nixonhire.co.uk catalogue and shopping cart differ in
that rather than the creation of an actual order, the
system produces an order request. This is then routed
through to the appropriate person within Nixon Hire who
is then able to work with the client to secure the correct
equipment and the best deal.
In addition to the online catalogue, we also created news
and communication systems to enable Nixon Hire to interact
with both their existing and potential client bases. |
