What was needed |
| |
|
|
| |
|
George F White, an established estate agency and property
specialist, with branches across the North East, chose Inovica to develop a
bespoke website to replace their existing site. The requirements for this new
site were that it should reflect both the professionalism and size of the
company, adhere to the new brand identity, be easy to navigate, easy to
maintain and to integrate with existing internal systems. |

What we did |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Following a strategic review of the requirements, Inovica created
a development plan for the creation of a flexible site to cater for the diverse
needs of the George F White audience. Inovica created a number of different
design concepts for the company, all with a flexible navigational structure.
Once the final design was chosen, this was developed into a template design to
be used throughout the site.
Our initial focus on the site was to create an easy to use
navigation, to display properties for sale as well as properties to rent. Using
a form-based approach, site visitors can specify the property type that they
are looking for, and then refine the results at this stage. Each property
displayed on the site provides detailed information on the property, has
multiple photographs and also links into a fully embedded mapping application
as well as aerial photography.
Property information requests can be provided in two different
formats. Visitors can request detailed property information to be sent to them,
or in many cases they can download Adobe Acrobat PDF versions of the property
brochure, providing instant detailed information for the visitor as well as
lowering the cost for printing and postage.
Each property request is also tracked within the system for
easy customer relationship management (CRM).
Inovica developed a system so that each visitor can create an
“Alert” using the site, sending out an automated email to the visitor for any
new properties that are placed on the site that match their search profile.
This proactive approach means that the visitor does not have to repeatedly
return to the site to search for properties – the system will do the searching
for them.
The tracking system that Inovica developed for the site includes
the number of properties viewed, the number of information requests received as
well as the number of PDF details downloaded. This information can be viewed
both by the individual property owner as well as by George F White staff
members. These staff members have access to both detailed and aggregate
statistics so they can notice trends and establish patterns of browsing
behaviour.
George F White currently utilizes internal systems, across all
branches, for the management of both sales and rental properties. Rather than
duplicate effort, it has been necessary for Inovica to integrate the website
into these internal systems, automating the publishing of new properties, the
removal of old properties and the automatic publishing of content on the site.
This integration had to work seamlessly across all branches, ensuring that
duplicate properties were not placed on the site and ensuring that the correct
information was always displayed. This needed to be updated multiple times each
day.
From a technical level, the George F White site is fully
database-driven, includes a sophisticated content management system that can be
used by all staff with minimal training and is run on parallel, mirrored
servers, located in different geographical areas to ensure 100% uptime. |
