What was needed |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Caramel Jewellery, a retailer of distinctive, yet affordable,
jewellery required Inovica to develop their brand for an online presence as
well as to create an easy to use ecommerce site providing an easy purchasing
environment for the customer, as well as retail back-end systems to automate
many of the normally manual processes. The site needed to cater for a large
range of products, although for the launch phase the site would consist of a
smaller collection of jewellery pieces. In addition, the site needed to be managed without a high degree of
technical competence. |

What we did |
| |
|
|
| |
|
We presented a number of design concepts to the client based on
the existing branding and once the final design was chosen we were able to
create template for the programming to fit into. All the design of this site
has been created for accessibility and adheres to good practice guidelines that
help make the Web accessible to people with disabilities.
To develop a site flexible enough to display only a limited range
of products, as well as to potentially display hundreds of products, required a
design that could cater for these changing quantities. We developed an elastic
design that could adapt to these changing needs, complete with categorisation
and an easy to use content management and administrative function. An interface
and integration with a third-party credit card processor was developed, as well
as securing the online programming files using our own SourceGuardian product.
At no time is sensitive credit card information available and stored on the
site thanks to these systems.
In addition to the design and programming
work, Inovica has also been able to provide guidance and systems for online
marketing, pay-per-click marketing, affiliate systems and the tracking and
analysis of visitors both into the site and patterns of browsing behaviour
within the site. |

The result |
| |
|
|
| |
|
The development, from start to finish, was completed within a two
month timescale and the site went live in time to catch the Christmas trading
period. So far the response to the
site, and to the customers own product, has been very favourable. |
