Thursday 10th February 2011New Website for New Writing NorthInovica are pleased to announce the launch of a new website for our long standing client,
New Writing North.
New Writing North is a development agency based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Their focus is on creative reading and writing, and helping to promote and develop relationships between writers, agents and producers across the creative industries.
New Writing North approached us to re-develop their website; to give it a fresh look and feel that would be more in-keeping with their work in the creative sphere. We were also asked to widen the website a great deal, giving New Writing North a greater scope for content on their site, and also a way to interact with their viewers.
As well as new logo design, social media integration, and a whole host of useful pages for people who are interested in literature, we also updated the website to include a brand new shop, where New Writing North could integrate with Amazon to sell a range of books to their audience.
It was both a pleasure and a challenge to work on the
New Writing North website, and we look forward to a continued working relationship with them as their business develops and the find more and more interesting projects to engage in.

Tuesday 23rd November 2010A True Family Business: The Knitsley Farm ShopThe Knitsley Farm Shop and Granary Cafe is based in the Lanchester Valley, in County Durham. Inovica had the good fortune of being able to work with with Knitsley in order to build a brochure website for their business.
The product of a husband and wife collaboration, the Knitsley Farm Shop came about as a pursuit for a better life, and also a challenge for Edward and Rachel. Truly a family built and run business, the Knitsley Farm Shop saw blood, sweat and tears as family and friends took on an integral role in making the business come to life. Everything from the physical construction of the farm shop, to the day-to-day running of the business has seen a huge involvement from Edward and Rachel. You can also find three generations of the family at the farm and shop year round.
Inovica has developed, and now launched, a brochure website for the Knitsley Farm Shop. The purpose of the website is to advertise what Knitsley has to offer and to attract visitors to the shop, so the opening page of the website offers some images of the shop and location, along with vital contact and visitor information. The remainder of the website offers pages of space for information about the business as a whole and for images of the farm shop and its surrounding area.
The Knitsley Farm Shop continues to be a strong business, providing traditional farm goods to local customers and visitors from further afield. Boasting countryside views, while being situated not too far from from their local town centre. The Knitsley Farm Shop makes a great place to visit and is very easy to get to.

Wednesday 10th November 2010Inovica Builds A System for Rating Medical Courses
Inovica have recently created a course rating portal for use by medical trainees on the Northern Deanery Trauma and Orthopaedic training program. We were approached by leaders of the Northern Deanery to create this portal, which was to hold a number of functions for the trainees. It was to allow them to record their experience of the medical courses that they attended, while also helping to build a resource for future trainees that would in turn have to make decisions about the courses that they would like to take.
The portal, simply entitled
CourseRater, has now launched and is being used by the trainees to give feedback on things like the quality of the teaching on a course, the relevance of the material and how well presented it was. Inovica tried to make the portal as functional and graphically tactile as possible, introducing things like star ratings to give viewers a quick overview of the ratings being given to courses on the
CourseRater website.
The portal itself is secured and can only be used or accessed by medical professionals and trainees with a GMC number. Accounts are granted on this basis, and trainees are required to produce their feedback as part of their overall studies; a practice which will undoubtedly help to improve the courses for future trainees.
Inovica are pleased to have had the opportunity to work with members of the Northern Deanery in building this great tool. There are great hopes for the effectiveness of CourseRater and views to rolling the platform out on a national level in the future.
Please take a look at the
CourseRater website to find out more about what they do, and if you are a Northern Deanery and Orthopaedic trainee, make sure you sign up and have your say.
